Boardman TRK 9.8

5th Nov 2017

Following last month's review about my Boardman Elite Air 9.8, I thought I should write about the Boardman TRK 9.8 that I ride. I’ve had the TRK for almost 18 months and I’ve had no issues with it whatsoever.
alice-bike-1Weighing in at 7.2kg, the Boardman TRK is extremely stiff and easy to handle. Built into the frame is a multi-position seat post with four options available for the ultimate advantage in positions, allowing a more aerodynamic position or a setup more suited to bunch racing. Along with the seat post, there is an eccentric bottom bracket built for a PressFit 30 to fit in it.
alice-bike-2Another thing all track riders tend to look out for is long dropouts, handy when always swapping gears around so you don’t have to change chains around.
The bike came with a Prologo Zero Tri Pas saddle but I’ve swapped it over for an Adamo ISM saddle for no reason other than added comfort, due to riding it on my previous track bike. I also swapped over the Boardman Elite Allow handlebars to Thomson Carbon drop bars. I ride BT aero bars for Individual and Teams Pursuit to get down low, which works well with the wind tunnel tested bike. I also use Mavic Cometes wheels, which is an easy fit considering how long the rear dropouts are.
alice-bike-3All-round it's a top bike for any track discipline, for an inside or outdoor event, or just to stand out from the crowd on.
