Come along on the Bikebug Randonnée, hosted by the experienced hands at twowheeltours. It’s a great opportunity to ride somewhere different, and enjoy a big day out on the bike in and around the beautiful Central Coast, with our planned loop also including the infamous Bumble Hill.

 

The Bikebug Randonnée will depart from Saddles @ Mount White, and promises to be a tough but enjoyable day out on your road bike.

 

The cost is $30 per rider which covers:

  • Welcome coffee/tea and brioche at Saddles
  • Mid-point rest stop with bananas, gels & water
  • Cold drink when you return to Saddles

Once you have registered you will receive an email with further details including payment information and the GPX file.

Agenda:

Prior - All riders MUST complete our E-WAIVER: no waiver - no ride

 

8:00am - Meet at Saddles (20 Ashbrookes Road, Mount White NSW)

  • Estimated 1 hour drive / 62km from the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
  • Grab a coffee or tea and brioche - courtesy of Saddles. 
  • Put your backpack/musette in the support vehicle.

 

 

8:30am - Depart from Saddles.

 

There are two designated stops where you will be able to access the support vehicle to get into your backpack/musette.

  1. 28km : Somersby 
  2. 85km : Central Mangrove
  3. 118km : Saddles

 

~12:45pm - First riders estimated arrival back at Saddles

 

 

1:00pm - Post ride, feel free to grab some take away lunch from Saddles, at your own cost. Bring a picnic blanket and sit by the shady dam or at one of their tables. 

 

 

2:00pm - Afternoon concludes.

 

 

Stats: ~118km // ~1,800m ascent // ~4:00 hour ride

 
 

Details on the ride:

 

RIDERS MUST DOWNLOAD the GPX File [LINK to be given to riders who register] and be familiar with the course before rolling out.

 

This is an open ride on open roads, but a standard road bike is acceptable -- there are no gravel sections.

 

We will provide a support vehicle on the day which will be at two different rest stops.

 

The support vehicle will not be following the course.

 

Riders must be self sufficient.

 

At the start and at the rest stops, there will be a pump, basic tools and sunscreen.

 

This is not a ride for beginner cyclists.

Riders MUST BRING:

 
  • 2x Tubes
  • 2x Canisters
  • 1x C02 head
  • 2x Water Bottles (filled)
  • Tyre levers
  • 1x Garmin (or similar) with the course downloaded [LINK to be given to riders who register]
  • Ride-specific food
  • 1x Backpack/mussette for your gear - which can be placed in the support vehicle
  • Phone
  • 1x Multi-tool
  • 1x Rear Flashing Light
  • Change of clothes for lunch, and a towel to wipe yourself down.
  • There are NO shower facilities available at Saddles


This is not a guided ride.

 

Riders should know the route and use a Garmin (or similar) to follow the route for the day. Riders will be riding in remote areas during the day. There may be sections where there will be NO phone reception.

 

All riders must be self-sufficient to finish the ride.

 

RIDERS MUST BE FIT TO ATTEND THIS RIDE.

 

Bad weather - if there is bad weather, a decision will be made the day before by 6:00pm - all riders will be notified via text. If the event is canclled because of bad weather, any money paid can be used as a credit for another event. 

 

We will continue to be a COVID Safe Business and run this day according to government regulations.
