Two separate loops, two separate days — do one, or both! 

 

Saturday 12 December 2020 : Open Road Loop: Maze Of Dandenong 

 

Sunday 13 December 2020: Open Road Loop: Dandy > Mt Toolebewong > Dandy

Following a sold-out Sydney edition, come along on the Victoria stop of the Bikebug Randonnée, hosted by the experienced hands at Twowheeltours. Join us for one or both days, and discover a new climb (or two!) while exploring the beautiful Dandenong Ranges.

 

Both days of the Bikebug Randonnée will depart from the Piggery Cafe @ Sherbrooke.

 

The cost is $30.00 per rider which covers:

  • Welcome coffee/tea and brioche at Piggery Cafe
  • Mid-point rest stop with bananas, gels & water
  • Cold drink when you return to Piggery Cafe

Once you have registered and provided the necessary details, you will receive an email with further details including payment information and the GPX file.

 

 


 

DAY ONE — Saturday 12 December 2020: Maze of Dandenong 

 

Agenda:

 

Prior - All riders MUST complete our E-WAIVER: no waiver - no ride

 

 

8:00am - Meet at Piggery Cafe (1 Sherbrooke Rd Sherbrooke VIC 3789)

  • Estimated 1 hour drive / 50km from the Queen Victoria Markets.
  • Grab a coffee or tea and pastry, courtesy of Piggery Cafe. 
  • Put your backpack/musette in the support vehicle.

8:30am - Depart from Piggery Cafe.

 

There are two designated stops where you will be able to access the support vehicle to get into your backpack/musette. These stops are still TBC. 

 

~12:45pm - First riders estimated arrival back at Pigger Cafe. 

 

1:00pm - Post ride, feel free to grab some take away lunch from Piggery Cafe, at your own cost. Bring a picnic blanket and sit by the shady dam or at one of their tables. 

 

2:30pm - Afternoon concludes.

 

 

Stats: ~100km // ~2,470m ascent // ~4:00 hour ride



 

DAY TWO— Sunday 13 December 2020: Dandy > Mt Toolebewong > Dandy

Agenda:

Details on the Saturday and Sunday VICTORIAN Rides:

 

  • Riders will be emailed a link to the course(s) in the week before the ride(s).
  • Riders must DOWNLOAD the GPX and put it on their GPS device.
  • RIDERS must be familiar with the course(s) as these are not guided rides.
  • RIDERS must follow and abide by all road rules. These are open rides, on open roads. 
  • The course is NOT signposted and riders should use a Garmin (or similar) to follow the route on the day(s).
  • A standard road bike is acceptable, however on both Saturday and Sunday there may be short gravel sections.
  • We will provide a vehicle on both days which will be at two dedicated Rest Stops.
  • The support vehicle will not be following the course.
  • Riders must be self-sufficient to finish the ride.
  • Riders will be riding in remote areas during the day.
  • There may be sections where there will be NO phone reception.
  • At the start and at the rest stops, there will be a pump, sanitiser, basic tools and suncream.
  • Courses are subject to change and full details, including GPX, will be emailed a week before the ride(s).
  • RIDERS MUST BE FIT TO ATTEND THESE RIDES, they are NOT for beginner cyclists.
