I know that some people prefer to ride without gloves but unfortunately I am not one of those people. I tend to get really sweaty hands when I ride (almost to the point where I lose my grip) and I have been known to have a few ‘get offs’ where I land awkwardly, which usually results in my my hands getting scraped somewhere along the way, so I prefer to have the added security and protection of riding in gloves. Normally I don’t put much thought into purchasing gloves and I generally just buy gloves that fit and look OK at the time of purchase. That is, until now.
After my last purchase of fairly thin gloves I noticed that after each ride my hands and fingers were becoming very sore and I was starting to develop blisters on my hands. I decided that I needed gloves with more padding and that was when I stumbled upon the Fox Ranger Gel gloves, and after using them I doubt I will ever ride in any other glove again.

Fox Ranger Gel gloves have several strategically placed TRUGEL gel inserts to reduce pressure and impacts on the ulnar and radial nerves. They feature a double layer palm and padded knuckles for durability and protection and are available in either full finger coverage or short finger length. They have a compression moulded cuff with a hook and loop closure. The thumb and index finger are touchscreen compatible, and they also feature an absorbent sweat wipe on the thumb and have silicone fingertip printing. They're made out of a 4-way stretch polyester material.
Fox Ranger Gel gloves come in a variety of colours to suit any taste, including black/charcoal, fluro yellow, ice blue, red, teal and dark green, and they come in a range of sizes from small to extra large. Although they are not technically a women’s specific glove, I had no trouble comfortably fitting a small size glove.
I generally don’t like to wear gloves that have hook and loop closures as I find they tend to rub on my wrists, which annoys me, but I've had no issues with these gloves rubbing and I find the closure well fitting and comfortable. At first, I found that the raised finger and gel pads felt weird on my grips but after a few minutes I completely forgot about it and no longer noticed them. With the gel grips, I can grip my handlebars more comfortably and actually feel more in control of my bike, especially over the rough and rocky technical terrain that I frequently ride on. I can ride for hours and not have sore hands or blisters at the end of each ride.
I thoroughly recommend these Fox Ranger Gel gloves; they are extremely comfortable, fit really well, great value for money, hard wearing, and alleviate sore hands whilst riding. After trying these gloves I will never go back to using non-padded gloves again.
