After trying a variety of different tyre patterns with varying success, I have finally found two tyres that I thoroughly love and recommend. My favourite choice for my front tyre is the Maxxis Minion DHF and my favourite rear tyre is the Maxxis Aggressor.
The Maxxis Minion DHF is designed to get you through the toughest terrain. It provides great grip and control. It is specifically designed for breaking and acceleration, and it grips really well in wet, soft, or hard terrain. The Minion DHF has also been designed to have great roll efficiency and cornering abilities. Since using the Maxxis Minion DHF as my front tyre, I have noticeably more traction compared to other tyres I have used in the past, and I haven't yet lost the front of my bike when cornering. This is due to the fact that the Minion DHF grips so well. The Minion DHF is tubeless ready, it has EXO side wall protection, a directional ramped knob design, a lightweight single-ply casing, a foldable bead, and it's available in a dual compound. The Minion DHF comes in a variety of wheel sizes and widths to suit any rider.
My all-time favourite tyre is the Maxxis Aggressor. The Aggressor features a lower profile centre tread for speed, yet provides larger side knobs for cornering performance and grip. The Maxxis Aggressor is great for high-speed trails that are loose, or medium hard surfaces. It is available in either a Double Down casing or a lighter weight EXO casing. It also comes in a variety of wheel sizes and widths to suit any rider. I find the Maxxis Aggressor to be extremely grippy, especially on loose surfaces and rocky terrain. I also find that it rolls extremely well, and I find it to be an excellent climbing tyre. The Maxxis Aggressor tread pattern doesn’t provide resistance when pedalling up hills, which is great for mature legs like mine!

I thoroughly recommend the Maxxis Minion DHF and Maxxis Aggressor tyres. They are reliable, hard wearing, perform incredibly well on the trails, and are extremely long-wearing. These tyres, in my opinion, are excellent value for money.
