Pogačar wins again on Stage 15 of the Tour de France

15th Jun 2020

The young Slovenian and UAE Team Emirates team leader Tadej Pogačar has taken his second win in the 2020 Tour de France.

In the race for the general classification and the yellow jersey, the young Slovenian and leader of UAE Team Emirates earns a 4 second bonus with victory over Roglic, the gap between the two now standing at 40 seconds. In third position, Rigoberto Uran sits 54 seconds down on Pogačar. As for the fight for the white jersey, the Slovenian now boasts a comfortable  2min35s lead over Enric Mas.

Pogačar dominated the stage atop his Colnago V3RS equipped with Campagnolo Super Record EPS 12 Speed and Campagnolo Bora WTO 45 aero wheels.

Pogačar said after the stage: “The race started at great speed until the breakaway went, and we had Marco Marcato there to cover it. Jumbo-Visma set a very high pace and maintained it throughout the stage, which along with the heat meant it was better not to attack. In the final, I waited for the sprint and took another beautiful victory. Some of the GC guys were dropped and this was due the effect of the pace set by Jumbo-Visma. Tomorrow we’ll have the rest day, then I’ll try to give my best again: at the moment, Roglic seems unbeatable, but anything can happen, anyone can have a bad day, as happened today to Bernal or as can happen to me or to Primoz”.
