Team Bridgelane - Summer of Cycling Recap

30th Dec 2019

With the season cut short due to Covid-19, it's great to hear some exciting news about Team Bridgelane from the Summer Season just passed. Team Bridgelane have ridden Argon 18 bikes this season, truely showing what they're capable of!

Four countries, six UCI races, four stage wins & two General Classification victories; culminating in the start to the year the team was hoping for.

The 2020 UCI season kicked off with new rider Rylee Field taking out the UCI 2.2 New Zealand Cycle Classic off the back of an impressive solo attack on the race’s queen stage, just one day after 19-year-old Jensen Plowright took his first UCI stage win on stage 3.

Jensen backed it up in his very next race, winning the Trek Night Riders Criterium in emphatic fashion, sealing the 2019-20 National Criterium Series in the process.

Across to the Jayco Herald Sun Tour, Ben Hill took out the sprint classification with an aggressive showing of breakaway prowess. Ben forced his way into the day’s break nearly every day of the 5-stage race, besting plenty of WorldTour talent on his way to the tour’s green Jersey.

Team BridgeLane wrapped up the summer at the UCI 2.1 Tour de Taiwan. Nick White reminded everyone exactly why he’s widely considered one of Australia’s most prominent young cyclists, winning Stage 3 of the race (the same stage he won last year). Yet it was his consistency (3 consecutive stage podiums) and an incredible display of teamwork by his teammates that sealed the overall victory for Nick, once again proving that teamwork wins races.
