Taking another step forward from the original Riot Road Shoe from BONT is the RIOT+ model which replaces the previous micro adjustable buckle with a BOA closure system to make it even easier to personalise the fit of the shoe to your foot at any given time. The RIOT+ combines BONT's pro-series technical features with their power transfer platform, anatomical shaping and competition-grade materials to create the most technically advanced entry-level road cycling shoe on the market today.

Perfectly Utilised Microfibre Upper
A microfibre upper is used to the utmost in optimal purpose to provide the BONT RIOT+ with an outer layer strong enough to withstand the rigours of everyday cycling. Mesh inserts assist with the breathability of the cycling shoes for foot comfort.

Carbon Composite Construction
The carbon composite construction of the Riot has been specifically designed to ensure maximum performance at low weight. The fibreglass tub style construction of the chassis has been strengthened with the inclusion of carbon across high stress areas. The carbon has been sandwiched between layers of the fibreglass to maximise strength.

BOA Dial Retention System
The RIOT+ replaces the micro adjustable buckle on the original RIOT model with a single BOA Dial and a Z-form Velcro strap for closure of the shoe. These have been cleverly integrated to improve retention and ease of adjustment and to offer more even pressure distribution and better power transfer via the BOA lacing system. With dial placement for zonal fit, and fine tuning down to the millimetre, the closure system is reliable, effective and easy to personalise. It not only holds the foot in place without feeling constricted, but is easy to adjust on-the-move. BOA Technology guarantees the BOA Lacing System reel and laces for the lifetime of the product.

Ventilation
The BONT RIOT+ is ventilated via vent holes in the toe's protective front bumpers as well as integrated top mesh panels in the upper forefoot region. These allow air to flow into the shoe for cooling effect and also provide a means for unwanted heat and moisture to escape.

Last Design Shows Expertise in Functional Biomechanics
A 'last' is a replica of a foot that the cycling shoe is built around. Heat Moulding
BONT cycling shoes are the most heat-moldable shoes available. BONT's proprietary resin has been developed and perfected over 36 years to be an extremely stiff resin which becomes pliable at relatively low temperatures. Unlike other shoes which are moldable only in select locations, all BONT cycling shoes are able to be molded over the entire chassis providing the cyclist with, not only, the most anatomically designed cycling shoe on the market today, but also with the ability to fine-tune the fit of the entire shoe to give a customised fit.

Medial Longitudinal Arch Support
Structural medial longitudinal arch support is provided in all models to stop over-pronation of the feet (flat feet). This is a common biomechanical problem which occurs when a person's arch collapses upon weight bearing. This motion can cause extreme stress or inflammation on the plantar fascia, potentially causing severe discomfort and leading to other foot problems or knee injuries. Over pronation is one of the main contributors to incorrect tracking of knees during a cyclists pedalling phase due to internal rotation of tibia and femur. This rotation can cause the pelvis to tilt resulting in lower back strain.

Lateral Forefoot Support
BONT's lateral forefoot support ensures neutral positioning of the forefoot and alleviates common issues associated with over pronation and supination. These issues often result in incorrect tracking of knees causing injuries along with hip and lower back pain.

Anatomical Forefoot Shape
Conventional cycling shoes offer a "dress shoe" type shaping. Although very pleasing to the eye, this will cause the toes along with the metatarsals to be overly constricted, compressing the nerves between the metatarsals. This very often results in the common "hot foot" sensation. BONT cycling shoes anatomical shaping allows the foot to function in its most efficient and anatomically correct position. The foot is supported in its endeavour to relax through the metatarsal joints allowing the pedalling force to be spread across the greatest possible surface area.

Anatomical Heel Cup
