The Campagnolo HPPM power meter falls into the family of ‘spider-based’ power meters, i.e. with 16 sensors positioned in the spokes of the crankset to detect torque values, expressed in Newton meters, with great precision. The Power data is obtained from a real-time crossing of torque value with the angular velocity provided by the integrated gyroscope. The 16 strain gauges produce multiple readings, which, combined by a specific algorithm, guarantee an
extreme accuracy of +/- 1%, also thanks to high frequency data sampling.
The angular velocity and torque signals are in fact measured every five milliseconds. A very high frequency equal to 200 hertz, which gives the clearest possible reading of the data.
With the new HPPM Power Meter the Campagnolo ecosystem expands, maintaining the same magnetic charging connector as the other components of the Super Record Wireless groupset.
Equipped with an Ultra-Torque titanium axle and unidirectional carbon fiber cranks (available in 170, 172.5 and 175 millimeters), the crankset with HPPM Power Meter offers immediate reactivity to release all the power exerted by the athlete on the transmission. 3 chainring options are available: 45-29, 48-32, 50-34.
The new My Campy 3.0 app allows the system calibration in just a few steps and shows the battery charge status with a modern and intuitive interface: a single charge lasts for over a month and charging time is just under four hours.
