Building on Thudbuster's proven parallel linkage technology, Cane Creek have completely re-designed the seat post for increased durability, a higher rider weight limit, and additional suspension travel, as well as ease of use through tool-free elastomer change and a single-bolt seat clamp design. By improving on this already legendary design, Cane Creek are confident to say that the newest generation Thudbuster is the most advanced suspension seat post ever made.
Applications
Designed specifically with the rigors of e-bikes and daily commuting in mind, the new Thudbuster G4 ST includes 50mm of travel to significantly diminish shocks and impacts from broken pavement, cobblestones, or any other mixed surfaces.
E-Bikes
In order to accommodate a motor, e-bikes feature, in general, very stiff and unforgiving frame designs. They are also ridden primarily in the saddle, rather than standing. The Thudbuster takes the edge off without changing the angle of your body in relation to the pedals.
The Science Behind Thudbuster
The Thudbuster technology stays in the direct path of the natural travel of the rear wheel. As a bump lifts the back of a bicycle, the rear wheel pushes up and forward into the rider. The Thudbuster works by compressing along the exact opposite path - down and rearward - absorbing force at the same rate: The net movement of the saddle is zero. Fully active elastomers provide approximately 33mm (1.3 inches) short travel of customizable suspension.
Adjustments
cane Creek's all-new Thudbuster G4 seat post is now able to support riders up to 150kg (330lbs) and incorporates a tool-free, interchangeable elastomer system to quickly and easily adjusts the seat post for a variety of rider weights. Installing and adjusting your seat on the new Thudbuster is easier than ever with a single bolt design that secures the seat with a few turns of a standard hex tool. A medium firm elastomer is pre-installed from the factory.
