Castelli has increased the durability of these shorts through the use of extremely tough Unlimited Lycra fabric. It's more abrasion-resistant than standard Lycra and resists tears too. And yet it's still brilliantly flexible and has excellent moisture management.

Durability is also enhanced via the use of double-layer side panels - it's the old track rider's trick of fabric-sliding-on-fabric should you fall. While these shorts aren't indestructible, should you slide out on a fast gravel corner, you're more likely to be able to dust yourself down and keep riding rather than having to buy a new pair of shorts. The second layer also creates easy-to-reach extra storage pockets on each thigh, complete with covers to keep the contents safe. Speaking of extra storage, you'll also find two additional pockets on the lower back.

The usual excellence in fit and features are also all to be found. Raw-cut leg endings, with vertical silicone grippers, hold the shorts nicely in place over any terrain.
