Any Pista or Super Pista pump produced after 1946 contains this check valve assembly to ensure that the air can only flow in one direction. Most modern pumps use a rubber ball or disc and a spring, with some nicer ones using an injection molded rubber piece and spring, but nothing has the durability, contamination resistance, or solid sealing action of this brass plunger design which has been in continuous production for nearly 70 years.
