Proterra Light i23 wheels check all the boxes for a fast and light alloy wheelset.

The 23mm inner rim width provides the optimal tyre profile for adventure road and gravel tyres ranging from 30-42mm. Its open-cavity profile features thin, weight-optimised walls that provide the perfect blend of stiffness, resilience and efficiency. Subdued graphics on a bead blast finish ensure these wheels won't clash with the colours of your dream bike. Theydidn't skimp on hubs either. Top-tier EZO bearings, a swift 6-pawl freehub and 3.7 degrees of engagement provide the look, sound and feel you expect of a high-end tubeless wheelset.

Technologies

TCS 2.0 - Sealant-based tubeless system that improves upon the foundation of WTB's legendary TCS (Tubeless Compatible System). The integral component of TCS 2.0 is the Solid Strip, which makes tubeless more robust and dependable than ever before.

ISO/ETRTO Compliant - Internationally standardised tyre bead and rim sizing. This ensures that tim and tyre compatibility are as consistent and user-friendly as possible for both WTB's products and those of theircompetitors.

On Ramp - WTB's On-Ramp bead construction provides a cosistent fit between rim and tyre for easy installation and inflation. On-Ramp also allows riders to easily pop the tyre bead to the centre of the rim valley before the tyre removal.

4D - Spoke holes are drilled at an angle that matches the natural spoke pathfrom rim to hub. Doing so eliminates binding and lateral loading of the nipples, which increases stability and extends the lifespan of the wheel.

Sleeved - Rim ends are joined together using an extruded aluminium insert that matches the inner cavity of the rim. Both ends of the rim are hydraulically pressed over the tight tolerances of the insert and then further reinforced by industrial epoxy.

Solid Strip - Durable strip that sits against the rim and prevents tubeless tape from sagging at the spoke holes, which makes it easier to inflate a tyre and protects from puncture in the case of a broken spoke. Tubeless tape is then installed over the Solid Strip.
