Introducing Helix, the new standard in performance footwear
Bont Cycling's race-proven anatomic fit is now even further enhanced by a newly reimagined closure system. Experience performance and comfort without compromise like never before.
Features
Durolite -has been developed and chosen for the Helix upper for its extremely durable nature and light weight.
Retention System -Continuous wiring spreads the load for a secure hold withoutlocalised pressure points.
Cable Routing -Wraps around and under the rigid carbon chassis for a wide, even anchor point.
Single Boa -The single Boa dial simplifies operation for quick and easy on-the-fly adjustments.
Unidirectional Carbon Chassis -The Helix continues with its unidirectional monocoque chassis in matt finish and is upgraded with an improved grid to assist cleat adjustment.
TPU Toe Protector -Not only protects the front area of the shoe from wheel rub and impact, but also houses ventilation holes for improving airflow through the shoe.
Ventilation -The Helix is highly ventilated with integrated air vents on the front bumper providing direct airflow into the shoe along with perforated upper and tongue to maximise breathability.
Anti Stretch -Between the outer leather and the liner we add a material that is proprietary to Bont to stop the cycling shoe from stretching over time. This layer assits in pedalling efficiency by maintaining a supportive structure over the top of the foot in the upward part of the pedal stroke.
Last Design -A last is a replica of a foot that the cycling shoe is built around. Last makers do not make cycling shoe lasts, they only make shoe lasts so perfecting a cycling shoe last requires a great deal of expertise in functional biomechanics and ongoing research.
Carbon Fiber -The base of the Helix is made by hand utilising uni-directional carbon fiber which is embedded with epoxy thermo setting resin. The Helix utilises unidirectional carbon fiber allowing Bont to create a performance cycling shoe with very specific strength characteristics based on stress points in cycling. As unidirectional carbon absorbs less resin then cross weave fibers, it also assists in the weight reduction of the cycling shoes.
Padding -The Helix utilises closed cell memory foam that will not retain water assisting in maintaining a lighter shoe during wet conditions as well as ensuring sweat which can begin to break down the durability of the shoe is not absorbed.
Medial Longitudinal Arch Support -Structural medial longitudinal arch support is provided in all models to stop over pronation of feet. Over pronation is one of the main contributors to incorrect tracking of knees during a cyclists pedaling phase due to internal rotation of tibia and femur. This can result in knee injuries. In addition, the rotation of tibia/femur can cause the pelvis to tilt resulting in lower back strain.
Anatomical Forefoot Shape -Bont cycling shoes anatomical shaping allows the foot to function in its most efficient and anatomically correct position. The foot is supported in its endeavour to relax through the metatarsal joints allowing the pedalling force to be spread across the greatest possible surface area.
Anatomical Heel Cup -The anatomical heel cup shaping of Bont cycling shoes provides increased stability during the pull through stage of pedaling stroke and up stroke. This stabilisation is achieved without any mechanical operation or over tightening of straps/laces allowing for increased comfort and blood circulation.
Lateral Forefoot Support -Bont's lateral forefoot support ensures neutral positioning of the forefoot and alleviates common issues associated with over pronation and supination. These issues often result in incorrect tracking of knees causing injuries along with hip and lower back pain.

Size Guide
To find your size, place a piece of paper on a flat surface and place it directly up against a wall. Stand on the paper and ensure you have a 1mm gap between your heel and the wall. Plant your foot firmly on the ground and slowly roll your weight forward and onto the forefoot. For the most effective longest toe measurement, your heel should lift off the ground slight. Look down and take the measurement from the wall edge of the paper to your longest toe. Record the length. With your foot still in place, mark the widest points of the inner and outer edges of your feet. Measure the width across the widest part of your foot and record the number in millimeters. Repeat this step for both feet.
Once the measurements have been taken, use the Foot Length Range on the size chart to find your size. The Last Length measurements shown on the chart are the exact length of the last that we use to build the shoes. This correlates to the precise internal measurement of the shoe.
Following selection of your size in EU or USA, move downward to select the most appropriate width. We recommend adding 1mm to find the most appropriate width. For example, you are looking at a Vaypor S and have determined your best shoe size is 45 and your feet measure 105mm (left) and 107mm (right) wide, with an additional 1mm added, you would still fit within the Standard Range. If your feet measure wide than 109/110mm (size 45/10.5) you should consider Wide fit.
