Cane Creek engineers are always seeking to build solid products that will continue to perform wherever you take them. With the development of the DBAIR [IL], we brought four great advancements in our design and manufacturing processes, all designed to make our shocks more robust compared to the previous generation.
The first shock to feature Cane Creek's LinEair Spring, the DBAIR [IL] is the best of both worlds, an air shock that feels more supple, linear and seamlessly supportive throughout its travel.
When developing the DBAIR [IL], our engineering team brought forth great advancements in our design and manufacturing processes, all devised to make our shocks more robust compared to the previous generation. The fully loaded functions of the DBAIR [IL] far outstrips other inline shocks and now offers even greater performance and reliability to unleash the full potential of trail and enduro bikes.
OIL SEAL HEAD REDESIGN
For consistent performance, the DBAIR [IL] features a completely redesigned oil seal head. In air shocks, this critical component separates the damping oil from the air spring. Our new oil seal head features a specialty quad ring made of a high-performance synthetic rubber material that is far more resistant to heat and compression set.
RECONFIGURED AIR PISTON
A common disorder with air shocks is the tendency for seals to leak. Our engineering team addressed this on two fronts with a more robust air piston that features an upgraded seal now 26% thicker. The end result is greater flexibility for the shock to meet the demands of any trail.
NEW AIR SPRING
Introducing the DBAIR [IL], an all-new twin-tube inline shock with superior performance and reliability. The first shock to feature Cane Creek's LinEair Spring, the DBAIR [IL] is the best of both worlds, an air shock that feels more supple, linear and seamlessly supportive throughout its travel. The DBAIR [IL] is the first shock to feature our LinEair Spring. Requiring a lower force to activate, the LinEair Spring provides the consistent feel of a coil shock from the initial stroke, full support during mid stroke and the added bonus of a progressive air spring curve when deep in the travel. This is illustrated in the image gallery above.
CLIMBING SWITCH TECHNOLOGY
CS is the most innovative climbing feature available. This proprietary climbing feature (patent-pending) for Double Barrel shocks alters the entire low frequency dynamic response of the shock to specifically address the demands of ascending on a bicycle. CS is a selectable climbing mode on Double Barrel shocks that allows the rider to retain the advantages of a fully-suspended bike while climbing, without unwanted suspension motion. CS is not your conventional pedal-platform as it adjusts both LSC and LSR. By selectively tuning both compression and extension phases when climbing, the shock maintains better traction and control while enhancing pedalling efficiency through the shock's entire travel.
DOUBLE BARREL TWIN TUBE TECHNOLOGY
Exclusive Twin Tube Technology circulates oil continuously through the damping valving to achieve highly controllable, independent damping for both compression and rebound strokes. This unique design moves oil through externally adjustable valving instead of the main piston, allowing for superior tunability and eliminating the need for internal valving changes to achieve proper shock setup.
4-WAY ADJUSTMENT
Low Speed Compression (LSC), High Speed Compression (HSC), Low Speed Rebound, (LSR), High Speed Rebound (HSR), DBAIR [IL] does it all with independent adjustability.
