The POC Tectal Race MIPS Helmet offers more coverage than conventional mountain bike helmets and has a highly efficient ventilation design, optimised and evaluated through wind tunnel testing.
The lightweight size adjustment system ensures a comfortable and secure fit. The well-ventilated Tectal has been specifically developed for aggressive trail riding and enduro racing and incorporates the aramid bridges system from POC's proven and award-winning Trabec helmet.
Unibody Shell Construction
The reinforced EPS liner provides a high level of protection and the unibody shell construction, introduced in POC's ground-breaking Octal road cycling helmet, further enhances the safety properties and construction integrity of the helmet while maintaining a low weight.
Extended Coverage
With extended zones around the back of the head and the temples, the Tectal gives extra coverage where it's really needed. The helmet also meets all Australian Safety Standards.
Integrated Sunglass Storage
It's easy to keep your sunglasses on the helmet mid-ride, as storage is built into the helmet.
Recco
Be searchable with a RECCO reflector. RECCO is used and trusted by rescue services around the world to quickly locate injured people in vast landscapes.
What Is MIPS?
MIPS stands for Multi-Directional Impact Protection System, which is a leading slip-plane technology inside the helmet developed by brain surgeons and scientists to reduce rotational forces on the brain caused by angled impacts to the head. The MIPS system is designed to mimic what your dome and skull do in an impact, namely allow a little bit of movement in order to protect the more important component. In your dome's case, there's a fluid layer between the dome and the skull that acts as a buffer. Wearing a POC Tectal Race Helmet with MIPS is the best thing you can do to prevent a catastrophic brain injury while enjoying your favourite sport.
