Designed for the real world, The new Zipp 303 Firecrest Rim Brake is the most capable wheelset in the Zipp line up.
In a world of imperfections, the new 303 Firecrest handles anything the rider an throw at it. From The smoothest of Tarmac to the Roughest of Gravel. Tubeless compatibility enhances cornering grip and rider comfort and decreasing the risk of pinch flats. With the new ZR1 DB HubT allowing for greater traction and power transfer, Experience Gravel riding like never before.
The Zipp ShowStopperT Brake track allows extreme versatility through dry, wet and dusty conditions. The New 303 Firecrest is a machine of versatility and strength. A race wheel for all year round. Experience Advanced Development Defined.
The year of the Tubeless
The benefits of Tubeless include superior flat protection, the ability to run lower pressures, and a smoother ride with high cornering grip and low rolling resistance. This wheelset, though, allows you to run Tubeless or traditional clinchers.
66 points of Hub engagement goodness
With the new ZR1 DB HubT offering 66 point of engagement, Experience power transfer, that's never been seen before. All ZR1 DB HubT sets come with Quick release swappable end caps to work with Quick Releases and Through axles. Opening the wheels to be used whenever and wherever straight out of the box.
Braking Performance Perfected
The all new ShowStopperT Textured braking surface for Zipp is a durable and versatile new textured braking surface. That allows for better braking performance whether in wet or dry conditions.
High Tech High Adventure
The firecrest's Tubeless design lets the rider run lower pressure for improved grip and rolling resistance without the risk of damaging the rim or pinch flats. At the centre of the 2020 Firecrest Tubeless disc Brake is a durable and versatile new hub set. The patented ZR1 DB HubT offers Greater bearing durability by improved Hub Sealing and quicker engagement with a centre locking brake interface. All this put together means less time on the side of the road.
ABLCT SawToothT
Zipp's new Sawtooth dimple design consists of 12 nodes that are specifically clocked to start aerodynamic shearing at a rate of 50hz at a rider speed of 32km/hr. Sawtooth accomplishes this by inducing small sheet vortices that shed at a low magnitude, but at a higher natural frequency, thus decreasing the laminar bubble effect on the aerodynamically shielded side of the rim's profile to further reduce high yaw drag and improve crosswind stability. Tha payoff is a faster more capable wheel able to handle anything thrown at it. deflection for reduced rolling resistance.
